If your annual rent exceeds ₹1,00,000 (₹8,334/month), you must provide your landlord's PAN to your employer to claim HRA exemption. Without it, your employer is required to deduct TDS on the full HRA. This is mandatory under Section 192 2(B).
Don't have a signed rent agreement
Your employer may ask for it alongside receipts. Create a legally valid, Aadhaar e-signed agreement in 10 minutes - ₹199 flat.
